HISTORY
It would be 2 years later Bruce & his Thai Wife founded the Thai Orchid Restaurant in 1987.
For over 32 years Thai Orchid has given Christchurch folks have had the pleasure of Thai Flavours and Thai Hospitality – All Chefs and Kitchen Hands were imported from Thailand (if not already residing here) to ensure ethnicity and one of the first places where Kiwis could Taste Authentic Thai food from professional Thai Chefs.
While many restaurants in the industry were struggling, Jules & Jum decided to take over the baton & challenge to get back the Thai Orchid of old and have spent much effort to regain the original spirit of one of Christchurch’s iconic settings. The whole team are proud to again return to the Number 1 Thai Dining destination in Christchurch.

Thai Orchid is an authentic style restaurant. – A genuine, passionate and friendly (Thai smiles included) atmosphere, with some of the best chefs you will find in New Zealand putting out some great love-based food!
